Director of Worship

Position Description

The Director of Worship, in partnership with the Lead Pastor, provides Biblically informed spiritual direction to the flock of Redeemer through song and worship. With the heart of a pastor, the Director of Worship will help guide Redeemer in Connecting to Christ in worship through music. This person will be instrumental in cooperating with our Lead Pastor to propel the vision of being a redeemed community living in response to the gospel where life and culture meet. He/she will help to oversee all aspects of our church’s worship life and weekly services. This is a part-time position with 10-15 hours per week expected.

Characteristics we desire:

• Have a heart for Christ and leading others to Him.

• Personally worship from your overflow.

• Pastorally lead congregational singing.

• Recruit team members and encourage their gifts.

• Work with pastor and staff to plan and prepare.

• Lead Sunday worship and worship for occasional special services.

• Share life with those in our faith community.

• Knowledge and interest in teaching hymns and contemporary songs

• Preach occasionally.

• Enter discipling relationship with pastor.

• Practice hospitality.

• Desire to grow theologically
