Growing up in Lubeck, Jim met his eventual wife, Becci, at Wood County 4-H Camp. As they married in 1987 the couple moved to the New River Valley region of Virginia. Jim spent 17+ years in the lube center business. Jim’s growth in Christ was developed serving the local church, Bible studies, and an enduring prayer group.
While serving The River in Blacksburg, VA as Associate Pastor, Jim attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC earning a Master of Divinity. He was ordained as a Presbyter in PEAR USA which became Diocese of Christ Our Hope in November 2012. Jim and Becci moved to Parkersburg in 2013 to begin the work of Redeemer.
Jim and Becci feel at home again in Parkersburg. They enjoy spending time with friends and family, occasional motorcycle rides, and visiting their adult children and grandchildren whenever possible.
Seth Snyder // Associate Pastor
Rev. Dr. Seth Snyder
Born in Waterford, Ohio, on the border of Washington and Morgan County, Seth is a proud Appalachian and resident of the Mid-Ohio Valley. However, his journey back home included a number of twists and turns, including years away traveling for work, serving in the Air Force, and studying at various universities.
After traveling around the country working for his dad’s industrial services company, Seth joined the Ohio Air National Guard as an F-16 mechanic, and was eventually commissioned as an officer and chaplain, in which capacity he currently serves at the 121st Air Refueling Wing in Columbus, Ohio. During his military service, Seth earned his undergraduate degree at Ohio University, his divinity degree at Duke Divinity School, a Masters at Yale Divinity School, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge, Corpus Christi College. Utilizing this education, Seth began teaching at the Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Oreland, Pennsylvania, in 2023, where he still teaches courses in systematic and historical theology. Seth and his family moved back to the area in February, 2026.
By far Seth’s greatest accomplishment is having married his lovely, way out of his league wife, Jessica Snyder, and fathering his three daughters, Alexis, Abigail and Anna. Seth and his family live in the farmhouse his late grandfather, Richard (Duke) Snyder, built in the late 70’s, and is trying to restore the small, 10-acre farm to its former glory. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, classic film and television (mostly westerns and 70’s-80’s sitcoms), music, woodworking, and the occasional video game.

Melanie Cutright // Deacon
Interested in spiritual matters since an early age, Melanie was struck by a quote on the wall in her 3 rd and 4 th grade Sunday School classroom, “Only one life; ’twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” This quote, from British Christian missionary C.T. Studd, became a guiding principle for her life.
Intending to marry and have five children (the perfect number she had decided upon), instead, she never married and had no children. However, her life has been filled with hundreds of children during the thirty-eight years she spent as a librarian, English teacher, and school administrator in Wood County Schools.
Melanie entered into an extensive discipleship process reading and discussing theology books, auditing Bible and theology classes through Reformed Theological Seminary over the course of two years, and completing a one year Anglican Studies program through the Anglican Diocese of Christ Our Hope. Melanie was ordained a deacon June 1, 2024
